Here's a rediff.com interview with Chandan Mitra, Rajya Sabha MP analysing the factors behind the party's loss in the elections.

He explains that the voter base of the party is shifting to rural areas whereas the focus of the party has remained very urbane.

Something I would disagree with him though is the dynasty angle that he chipped in, which is actually true, about the congress party whereas increasingly the BJP's top brass' offsprings and kin are being given a leeway within the party citing electability as reasons.
