Kabul embassy attack: ISI link?

10:39 AM by admin · 0 comments

It is a known fact that it was the ISI that had planned and executed the attack on the Indian embassy in Kabul in 2008 that killed 60 people and injured many more.

Now after fresh suicide attack on the embassy again on Thursday (08 Sept 2009) the finger of suspicion again points to the rogue ISI. In this report by Al-Jazeera, which also incidentally reported the claim to them by the Taliban that they were behind the attack, intelligence sources are cited as saying it could be the 'role of a state'
"This was an operation which was planned by a state and not - I quote - a group of bandits", says the intelligence source. (link)
Thats not all. Experts on strategic issues opine that the claim by the Taliban made to the Al-Jazeera network is a cover up act done deliberately to shift focus from the crux of the issue: Pakistan sponsored terrorism.

Increasingly, Pakistan views India's large presence in Afghanistan as a threat and has been trying tooth and nail to try and project Indian presence as an impediment to the journey to normalcy in the region and thereby influence America into working towards an Indian exit from the country.

All efforts to that effect should be defeated and India should continue its good work in Afghanistan as is.
