India now apparently has 422 think tanks, second only to the US-with 2,000 think tanks in the world.
And the number is growing with more and more experts and ex-bureaucrats joining the bandwagon of establishing a think tank.
Will this augur well? Is this a good sign? I some ways it is. As long as these think tanks do some 'meaningful research' like B.Raman says it is a good development.
According to the report by 'Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program' at the University of Pennsylvania less than 15% of our think tanks are dedicated to strategic and security issues.
